In addition, experts will share examples of best practices for rheumatology e-consults using ConferMed. We encourage participant input and questions.

E-Consult Workgroup Annual Meeting Recap and Presentations

In case you missed it, you can view the E-Consult Workgroup 11/3 Annual Meeting recording and presentation slides, including Alinea Stevens, MD, Chapa-De Indian Health sharing experiences with e-consult use throughout the pandemic. In addition, the meeting featured Anthem Blue Cross and Health Net sharing perspectives on e-consult policy and reimbursement needs.

New E-Consult Research on Neurology

In August, 2021, Geisinger Health published findings on Implementation and Follow-up Experience of an e-Consult Program in a Rural Neurology Setting. In this study, clinicians noted that e-consult "provides an interface between PCPs and neurology specialists and can assist in determining whether a patient needs to be seen urgently in the clinic, the correct subspecialty, and prerequisite diagnostic tests. (E-consult) was successfully implemented and used in our rural neurology setting, with rapid turnaround, increased usage, and accuracy."
