We are pleased to introduce the North Rural E-Consult Coalition (NREC), a group open to providers and stakeholders interested in improving access to specialty care through electronic consult. The NREC is a group of community health centers, health systems, physicians’ groups and health plans working together to create an inclusive program to address implementation needs, streamline referral workflows, and improve patient/member experiences.
Anthem Blue Cross and California Health & Wellness are working together to streamline the electronic consult (e-consult) process for providers, making this service available to all Medi-Cal managed care patients. This program is available at no cost to providers to improve patient access to specialty care and enhance care coordination. ConferMED, the e-consult platform used by a number of clinics, is not third-party software based, but built into each clinic’s referral workflow. | |

We understand that this is a time of crisis for both patients and providers who are facing the challenges of the COVID surge while remaining on high alert due to wildfire danger. Please send a representative from your organization to our first roundtable to hear about e-consult opportunities, best practices in response to COVID cases, and plan resources for those impacted by our north state wildfires. The NREC Roundtable is free and open to all interested stakeholders and advance registration is not required. | |
